Repertoire – Life Rhythms: Work, Rest and Play

Life Rythms: Work, Rest and Play, delves into the great rhythmic tides that guide our lives, from pulling of the planets, day and night, the changing of the seasons, and our own breaths and pulses.

            The rhythmic and textually dense “Equus” by Eric Whitacre is featured in the “Work” section, followed by Whitacre’s “Sleep”, a gorgeous ballad exemplifying the Rest segment.   The driving ostinato of the tribal chant in Phillip Glass’ “Serra Palada” concludes the show with the Play section, reminding all that life must be kept in balance to be truly enjoyed.

            Capital Regiment took 16^th place at DCI Division I Finals with a score of 80.82.
